Privacy policy

The short version: this site is static, we run no analytics, we set one cookie, and we hold no account data because there are no accounts.

1. What we collect

Nothing you provide. There is no registration, no login, no comment form, no newsletter and no contact form. There is nowhere on this site to enter personal data, which is the most effective privacy measure available.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent, referrer — for the purpose of serving the site and diagnosing faults. These are retained for a short period and are not used to build profiles.

2. Cookies

One first-party cookie-equivalent: a localStorage key named ps_ck, set only if you dismiss the cookie notice, containing the value 1. Its sole purpose is to stop showing you the notice. It is not a tracker, it is not sent to any server, and clearing your browser storage removes it. See the cookie policy.

3. What we do not do

• No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no Clarity, no heatmaps, no session recording, no A/B testing framework.
• No advertising network. Sponsor placements are static HTML links written into the page at build time; they load no script, set no cookie and cannot see you.
• No cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, no data brokerage, no sale or sharing of anything.
• No email list, because we have no way to collect an email address.

4. Third parties that see a request

The site loads two external resources: web fonts from Google Fonts and an icon stylesheet from cdnjs. Your browser makes a request to each, which means those providers see your IP address and user agent. That is the extent of third-party exposure, and we would remove it if self-hosting were practical for this project. The search index is a static JSON file served from our own domain; your search query never leaves your browser.

5. Legal basis and rights

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our basis for processing request logs is legitimate interest in operating and securing the site. You have the right to request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data we hold about you; in practice we hold no data by which you could be identified beyond transient logs. Requests may be made via the process in the takedown policy.

6. Children

The site is not directed at children and its subject matter is not appropriate for them.

7. Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
